Cheap I am

This just in!

We are poor newly weds.

With a baby on the way.

So naturally, we like cheap stuff.

We like the free stuff too, that's always nice.

 

With that being said, something that really annoys me is having to spend money on things that every human being needs.

I find it nonsensical.

It's like, you don't have the right to live if you can't afford to pay million/billion dollar companies 3 bucks for a tube of toothpaste.

Don't worry, we're not that poor. We can afford toothpaste.

 

So, I got to thinking.

Specifically about laundry detergent.

It's just too dang expensive, in my outraged opinion.

Even the cheapeast kind! You know, the kind that doesn't even smell good?

So I went on a search.

On Pinterest.

 

And I found...

Did you guys know you can make your own laundry detergent!?!

I sure didn't!

 

I wasn't quite convinced that this stuff would actually clean my clothes until I looked up what she actually put in the detergent. And all of the ingredients either treat stains, take away odor, or make your clothes beautiful and soft and smell like a new spring day.

 

And once I saw that you only had to put 2 Tbsp. in each load (because this stuff is just that awesome)

AND all of the ingredients combined would cost less than $30...

AND this whole batch would last a 2 person household a little over a year...

I was sold.

 

So we bought the stuff.

And I made it.

And I LOVE it.
I think it does a better job than the cheap "no smell" detergent.

It makes your house smell really good too.

 

I'm still a little iffy on whether this stuff is going to actually last us a whole year.

But it should last us a loooong time. 

 

 

P.S. I made my own Febreze too!

It was ridiculously easy.

Now, whenever I see a Febreze bottle that costs $5 a pop, I scoff and think to myself "Pshh, I just make a whole bottle for almost nothin!"
