Liebster

Thanks to the lovely Aria at So, today..., I have been nominated for the Liebster award!
The word Liebster is quite the strange word.
It reminds me of a gangster and an old smelly teacher put together.

But there is an actual meaning to the word, believe it or not!
Oh the joys of knowing things.
I shall quote the lovely Aria, "The Liebster award is given to bloggers who have less than 200 followers. (I have like a tenth of that) What is Liebster? Apparently it's German. You use it to start letters, start prayers, etc. It means Dearest/beloved/kind/valued....I like this word."

So there you have it! The Liebster award is not an old smelly gangster teacher, but in fact it's actually something quite nice.

So, as a Liebster Award nominee, I am asked to do the following:
1. Post 11 things about yourself  .
2. Answer the questions the nominator made for you
3. Create 11 more questions for the blogs you nominate
3. Choose 11 people and link them to your post
4. Go to their page and tell them too
5. Oh, and of course, no tag backs.

Thank goodness there is nothing binding me to do ALL of the following because most of the blogs I follow have already been nominated. So I decide to just do the first three and let anyone who is bored enough, answer the 11 questions that I make up.
Deal?
Okay, off we go!

  11 Things about myself

1. I am a huge reader.
Bookworm, if you will.
And I know many of you already know this, but it is something about myself that I feel if you are to know me really well, then you do need to know this about me.
I enjoy reading.
I don't just do it to pass the time.
I view it as time well spent.

2. I would much rather watch a "kids movie" rather than a chick flick or action movie.
Kids movies make me feel happy and imaginative and creative.
Chick flicks make me worry whether I'm going to run into a bad scene,
and action movies...they're okay. I just don't like them all the time.
Now, don't get me wrong,
some of my favorite movies are chick flicks and action movies.
Kids movies are just overall more comfortable
and usually funnier.

3. I have the corniest and dryest humor of anyone you will probably ever meet.
I don't know why I think that stuff is so funny,
it just is!
Keeping that in mind, I'm usually the only one really laughing at things I think are funny.
Everyone else is usually laughing at me because I'm laughing at something they think isn't that funny.
But I'm totally okay with that.
Doesn't bother me one bit.

4. I can't whistle.

5. I love Butterfingers and Peppermint Patties.

6. I have a pretty good memory.
So when I can't remember something, it drives me crazy.
Especially if I misplace something.

7. I want a pet tiger. Really bad.

8. I rarely get bored.

9. I'm pretty intuitive. At least I like to think so. I know I'm more intuitive than some.

10. Cleaning helps me de-stress.
Does that mean if I have a clean house then I've been really stressed lately? Not really.
I still like things to be clean whether I'm stressed or not.

11. I'm extremely stubborn.
I knew this before I got married.
But after I got married I realized how stubborn I really am.
I believe it can be a good thing.

Answer Nominator's Questions

1. Do you like your hair up or down (may be substituted for long vs short)?
Both, I suppose. It starts out being down on most days, then near the end of the day it'll end up in some sort of ponytail or bun/messything.
It's a good system.
I'm pretty happy with it.

2. If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?
I would start my own publishing company.
I would publish a variety of books (children's, young adult, adult, and the like).
But most importantly, this publishing company o' mine would never publish anything with questionable scenes.
I'm sorry people, but it's one of my biggest pet peeves to read what I think is a good book and then come across a yucky scene that makes me feel like I need a shower.
It just ruins it.

3. What actor would you like to play the lead romantic role in the story of your life?
Yes...I think this little guy would do the job nicely.

4. Do you ever get lost?
You know, living in Vegas for the vast majority of my life, I used to think I had good direction skills.
Not so much.
Maybe it's just Utah?
I don't know.
This part of myself still confuses me.

5. What is your favorite kind of toothpaste?
I don't know what it's called...
But it's the kind with the little tiny breath strip things.
You can get the blue kind or the green kind.
I like the blue kind.
Green toothpaste kind of throws me off.

6. Right.....*now*......are you happy with where you're going?
I would have to say yes.
Especially because I'm married to my best friend.
We have lots of fun together.
We are expecting a baby that will add to our little bubble of happiness
AND we just bought a carseat, the base for it, and a matching stroller all for $30 yesterday.
Yep. Ya can't beat that.

7. If you could live in a foreign country......
Then, yes i would.
I think it would be a great experience.
It's a toss up between England or Italy if I could choose.

8. Did you watch the Presidential debates?
In fact, I did. All three of them too.
It didn't make me feel glad to be an American however.
It just made me more excited for the time that Christ will reign here on the earth.
That's all I have to say.
P.S. But I did do the right thing and voice my opinion by voting, so don't fret.

9. What is the one thing that you are best at?
I don't think I am the best at anything, because that would imply there isn't anyone better than me.
But everyone has talents, and I know I have been given some of those.
I'd rather not list them, that would make me feel a little weird.
But I do feel comfortable saying that I try to be good at learning something every day.
Or maybe even just understand something better, every day.

10. If you could re-live a day in your life, which would it be and why?
That's a hard one...
There are many good days in my life that I could re-live,
but I already lived it and I have enjoyable memories from it already...
so why re-live it, ya know?
If it's not broke, don't fix it.
What I would like to do is pick a day in my future that I could observe
That would be pretty instructive.

11. What song would you like sung at your funeral and who would sing it?
I would like a vocal/piano/violin arrangement of 'Lead, Kindly Light' and 'Be Still, My Soul'
sung by one of my kids.
This is of course, given that one of my kids inherits their father's vocal talent.
Hopefully one of my kids would be able to play the piano and violin too.

  1. Is it weird that I didn't think of 'gangster' at all. Didn't even cross my mind until you said it. Also- did not know your husband could sing. Good job girl! Love all around!
