Yep, I sure am!
I would show you the picture of the home pregnancy test, but I don't think my camera was very happy about the news because all the pictures I took turned out blurry.
So you'll just have to take my word for it, and my doctor's word for it.
As of right this second I am 10 weeks pregnant, but I would say that I'm 11 weeks because week 10 is almost over.
I know all ya'll are wondering, "Was this a planned pregnancy?" Yes, it was. The Lord let me know pretty early into my marriage that there's a spirit up there ready to receive a body and that spirit is my baby.
We got an ultrasound on July 25th. We got to hear the heartbeat which was beating away, and we got the see the little baby. When we first saw it on the screen, it was laying on its back and then raised its little arm like it was waving hi to its mom and dad :) And then it proceeded to propel itself upward and then float back down, that happened about three times. It was really cute :)
I've noticed that the first cluster of questions that come from someone who has just heard the news is "How are you feeling? Any morning sickness?"
I'm feeling really tired all the time, I get exhausted pretty easily. I actually only had about 2 weeks of true morning sickness, and I'm not even sure I would call it true morning sickness because I never threw up. I just felt like I was going to.
But the new thing that has started within the last 2-3 weeks is that I'm getting REALLY picky about my food. If I start eating something I'm not totally jazzed about, the gag reflexes start kicking in. I know, fun right? It's mostly texture, like if something is really mushy then that's a big no no (avacados are extremely OUT). BUT my brain is starting to tell me whether I want something or not by just looking at it now, so I guess that's good. No more wasted food here!
Cravings? Oh yeah, I've got em. The biggest ones have been potatoes and tomatoes. The potatoes were an easy fix, we just went to the store and bought a bag of potatoes and I cooked them up and ate them and the craving went away.
But the tomatoes? Good gravy! I have seriously been craving whole tomatoes for at least three weeks and the craving hasn't let up yet. (p.s. I just went to the fridge and got a tomato to eat while I'm writing this) And I know this tomato thing is going to bite me in the butt one day because tomatoes are really acidic and I heard that too much acid can cause heartburn. yay. But I HAVE to have them! haha.
But on a happy note, while Josh and I were in Vegas visiting my family I got to get some maternity clothes shopping done! I suppose I don't realllllly need maternity clothes yet but I figured I should get some things while I was down there. The waistband on my normal jeans were starting to get uncomfortable so I knew I wanted to get a pair of jeans, I also ended up getting the most comfortable skirt on the planet, and a few shirts. So the clothes I bought should keep me from going crazy when I feel like I'm too fat to wear my old clothes. I can still wear my normal shirts, it just looks like I've got some pretty good pudge going on in the midsection ;)
YAY!!! congrats!! we are so excited for this little one! glad you are feeling better.
