There's nothing like geeking it out with a fellow reader.
Like seriously, I don't think anyone realizes the depth of my love for books (maybe my husband, because he sees me reading all the time).
And I'm not talking about books on tape or those weird online book things, I'm talkin about being able to actually hold the actual book and turn the actual page.
It's really sad how I can sit down with a book and feel like it's only been a half an hour or so, but then I'll look up at the clock and realize it's four hours later and I feel like I'm gonna pee my pants because I have to go so bad and like I'm going to pass out from lack of food and drink.
Is that healthy? The answer is, who cares! It's worth it.
What book am I reading right now you ask? I'd love to tell you.
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.
I am reallly liking it so far. It's a nonfiction narrative of a man named Louie Zamperini who was a Navy Bombardier in WWII. This guy was destined for the olympics in track when the war breaks out and he signs up for the Army Air Force. Again, I haven't finished it yet but verrrry good so far.
What other books have I read recently you ask? I'd love to tell you.
1. Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling (a summer must)
2. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (classic)
3. A Room with a View by E.M. Forster (not my favorite, but Forster really knows how to write dialogue)
4. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini (I've got mixed feelings on this one, but pretty respectable all the same)
5. I started Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, but since the main character has Aspergers and it's through his eyes, it was a little hard for me to read. It kinda made my head spin a little bit. But I saw the movie as well which was really good.
6. The Tennis Shoes Adventure Series by Chris Heimerdinger ( Josh and I are reading those together right now)
What are my favorite books you ask? I'd love to tell you.
(not in any specific order)
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
2. 1984 by George Orwell
3. My Not-So-Fairy-Tale Life by Julie Wright
4. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
5. The Violin of Auschwitz by Maria Angels Anglada
6. The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling
7. The Giver by Lois Lowry
8. And I think Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand is turning out to be a favorite.
Read books people! They make you smart.

yes! i loveeeee reading!!! soooooo good! and i think i need to read the book thief and wuthering heights?
ReplyDeleteWuthering Heights is a must, definitely a classic. You gotta have a pretty big attention span though, it's not the easiest read. But definitely worth it. The Book Thief is fiction, set in WWII. It's more of a young adults book, very well written. Zusak has a really cool style, I like it.
